Aerobic exercise and weight training can be combined for the best results for a diabetic. It is recommended that weight training be done no more than three times a week, while aerobic exercises should continue to be done daily in some form. On the days you weight train, cut the aerobic exercise to about 30 minutes. This can be a good warm up before the weight training. On the other days, continue aerobic exercise as you were doing it before you started weight training.

Diabetics certainly can weight train to build muscle. Even some professional competition body builders are diabetics, but they didn't get buff overnight. They had to work long and hard for it and so will you. Can diabetics build muscle faster if they incorporate weight and resistance training into their weekly routines? Yes, they can.
